Log InCricket Format Guide
Understanding the different cricket formats helps you make better decisions in betting. Each format has its own characteristics and types of betting markets.
T20
20 overs per innings, usually completed in 3 to 4 hours. Being the fastest format, live betting is most exciting here. Match winner, top run scorer and over/under markets are popular.
ODI (One-Day)
50 overs per innings, lasting a full day. This format is played at the ICC World Cup and bilateral series. More mid-innings betting options are available.
Test
Cricket's highest format played over five days. Session betting, innings totals and day-based markets are available. The preferred format for patient bettors.
Popular Leagues
BPL, IPL, BBL (Big Bash League) and PSL (Pakistan Super League) — these four leagues attract the most bets on 299bed.
Football Betting
Football fans in Bangladesh regularly follow the world's top leagues. You can bet on Premier League, La Liga, UEFA Champions League and FIFA World Cup qualifier matches on 299bed. Keep in mind that major European matches may kick off between 1 AM and early morning Bangladesh Standard Time (BST, UTC+6).
Common Betting Markets
- 1X2 — Home win, draw or away win
- Double Chance — Cover two outcomes at once
- Over/Under Goals — More or fewer goals than a set number
- Both Teams to Score — Whether both teams will score
- Asian Handicap — Betting with a goal margin applied
Betting Exchange
Unlike a regular bookmaker, on a betting exchange you bet against other players — not against the house. The odds on an exchange are set by the players participating in the market, which often means the market price is better than a bookmaker's.
Back vs Lay — The Difference
| Type | What You Are Doing | Example (৳) |
|---|---|---|
| Back | Betting in favour of an outcome | Placed ৳1,000 on Bangladesh to win |
| Lay | Betting against an outcome (taking the role of the bookmaker) | Placed ৳1,000 on Bangladesh to lose |
The exchange platform takes a small commission on winning bets — that is its source of income. The commission amount is fixed and disclosed in advance.
Exchange vs Regular Bookmaker
- Odds on the exchange are set by players in the market
- Lay betting is only possible on an exchange
- The margin is generally lower than a bookmaker's
- Commission is deducted from winnings
